CBC Missions October 2026

October Overview

The month of October has been very fruitful for CBC Missions. It was themed as “Lord of the Harvest,” focused on CBC’s Missions support. Each Sunday Pastor Gary highlighted a certain aspect of our mission work both regionally and globally. As a result, our congregants are more aware of where our giving is going and what impact it is having around the world!

Mission Board Developments

There have been other notable developments behind the scenes in October:
  • First, the Missions Committee has welcomed a new Mission Partner, Women of Worth, a Christ-based resident-recovery program located in Rabun County, Georgia. WOW provides housing and ministers to women recovering from all types of substance abuse with a 60% success rate of long-term sobriety. The congregation is encouraged to pray and provide volunteer support for the ministry as the program continues to gain support from the courts system to receive more women who opt for WOW’s program over prison sentences.

  • The Missions Committee also voted to fund 60 scholarships for Atlanta’s urban youth to attend God’s Farm, a Christian camp west of Atlanta tailored to underprivileged youth to experience a week of a Gospel filled camp activities.

  • Lastly, the committee voted to invest in an Associate Pastor position at the Downfield Mains Church in Dundee, Scotland. DMC has been seeking a bi-vocational Associate Pastor for many years to support their Senior Pastor, Nathan McConnell. Look for an update soon from Pastor Nathan on DMC’s ministry activities. Also, dates for a short-term mission trip to Dundee, Scotland in support of Downfield Mains Church will be announced soon. This will be a team of ten to twelve people and will take place during summer 2027. Applications are available for anyone interested in joining that trip.

Mission Partner Updates

Transform Iran: Lana Silk, President of Transform Iran, shared this about their ministry in regard to the International Day of Prayer:

“First of all, THANK YOU for all you do in supporting us. We are so grateful for you!
I have heard of so many wonderful initiatives, as you respond to the invitation to unite with others right around the world, and pray together for God to intervene, to strengthen, to refresh, to heal, to empower… the persecuted Church.

I pray that God will bless all these amazing initiatives and use them to expand His kingdom right around the world!”

Transform Iran is also launching its trauma-response ministry - “Pearl of Persia”, a course that will help those in Iran, specifically women, process and work through the trauma resulting from abuse they have suffered. They also have a course designed for the abusers, mitigating further violence perpetrated in Iran.
Nepal Music Center: Benjamin Pradhan, the NCCEF (Nepali Christian Children Education and Fellowship) Prayer Coordinator, wrote to update ministry efforts in Nepal.

“We hope this update will not only inform you but also encourage you to continue standing with us in prayer, support, and fellowship.
The continued training of Sunday school teachers has been one of the most invested programs of NCCEF since its establishment. NCCEF operates both long-term and short-term teachers’ training... Along with the training program, the teachers’ motivation program is one of the most repeated and frequent projects of NCCEF. It keeps us connected with most of all the churches through teachers after they are trained (alumni)...
NCCEF maintains a very healthy relationship with the churches throughout the Nation and Nepali speaking areas. Their support for the ministry is very pivotal. NCCEF also has, Pastors’ and leaders’, training and motivation program. We had 7 motivation programs at different places.
Hephzibah is a musical band impacting lots of young people through worship and music. During December, 650 people received blessings and healing both spiritually and physically through different programs presented by Hephzibah.
The total number of people we ministered to during the month of October through NCCEF ministries was 4,972. 107,500+ children received good news tracts. Thank you very much for your prayer and we request that you continue. God almighty is working in our land.”

Continued prayer is needed for NMC and NCCEF as their region was recently devastated by historic flooding after a glacial collapse. This flooding brought unprecedented death tolls to the area. NMC is heavily involved in humanitarian efforts currently taking place in Nepal.

Ways To Get Involved

Family Pastor Joel Diaz departs for a week in Mexico at the start of November to assess a mission trip opportunity for building houses in an area outside of Juarez. Look for developments for this potential mission trip coming in the future. Please pray for Pastor Joel and those he will encounter during his time there.
